HisPanic Breakdown is a young theatre company committed to develop and showcase original collaborations between English and Spanish artists. Our artistic mission addresses the depiction of traditional culture and folklore through cultural exchange. Our projects deal with current social issues such as immigration and sexual minorities from a historical perspective and through a combination of international artistic approaches, focusing in original creations.
Among our previous work, in 2010 we presented the production 'Men on the Verge of
a His-Panic Breakdown' at the Henley Fringe Festival. This play is a dark comedy about gay latino inmigrants struggling to adapt to an Anglo society. Since 2011 the company has been focusing mainly on the research and development of 'The Copla Musical', resulting in the shows: The Copla Musical, The Copla Solo and The Copla Cabaret.
